The Personal Barber is the curated shaving subscription that wants to turn your daily chore into a satisfying experience to look forward to.
We passionately believe that making the switch to a single-blade razor will change your whole outlook on shaving. That’s why we created our shaving club where you’ll be learning the art of the classic wet shave whilst getting to try a range of fantastic products to bring life to your morning routine. Every 6 weeks, we curate a selection of only the finest wet shaving gear from all over the world, introducing you to the lesser known brands and small businesses that you don’t see in the supermarkets.

Pre-shave box – Post-shave box – Extra-care box
Our latest kit in the Discovery Box subscription is the “Pre-Shave Box” which will be going out to renewing subscribers between October 1st - November 15th. With this kit we usually feature a product that’s applied before your shave begins, such as a pre-shave oil, designed to prep your beard before you slap a lather on and start shaving. We also include a face wash or scrub to cleanse your skin and hairs ready for a close shave.

We also have a smaller sized box, called the Essentials box, that features just the latest picked shaving soap/cream and a restock of 10 DE razor blades. This is for members that want to try new soaps and creams but would rather pick their own extra products. You can add any additional items to your Essentials Box without incurring extra postage fees.

Designed to deliver a smooth and effortless shave, this cream combines high-quality coconut oils and glycerin to create a lavish lather that minimizes irritation and leaves your skin feeling supremely soft, hydrated, and comfortable all day long.
Embark on a sensory journey with Viking, a bold and invigorating scent, crafted for the modern adventurer. The scent opens with the crisp zest of fresh bergamot, instantly uplifting your senses, while warm notes of dry sandalwood add a touch of rugged sophistication. To use: Take a small almond-sized dollop of shaving cream with a dry finger and, using a slightly damp brush, work up your lather in either a bowl, your hand, or directly on your face. This is a thirsty cream so you can be quite generous with the drops of water to build up a thick lather.

To use: A little goes a long way. Massage 4-5 drops of pre-shave oil into a freshly cleansed beard/stubble, apply your shaving lather directly on top and then shave. If your skin feels greasy afterwards, you have used too much oil. Adjust for next time.

Wilkinson Sword and Supermax Super Platinum Double-Edge Razor Blades
Wilkinson Sword are a very well-known brand that are made in Germany. Teflon coated for added longevity and glide, they give a consistent smooth shave. Will last 4-7 shaves depending on beard thickness.
Manufactured in India, SuperMax are a brand with quite a few different blades in their range. Like most in their range, the Super Platinums are a mild blade so they tend to work best with lighter beards, but the platinum coating gives them great consistency. They differ from other blades in their range by the materials used and the combination of coatings to allow the blade to easily glide over the skin. This is a great blade but doesn’t last as long as others. Expect between 3-5 shaves depending on beard thickness.
